The next webinar in the High-Performance Computing: A Gateway to Next-Generation Research series will take place on 11 June 2026, focusing on the application of High-Performance Computing (HPC) in engineering. The event is organized as part of the fifth edition of the Italy-Germany Webinar Series and brings together leading researchers working at the intersection of computational materials science, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and supercomputing.

Through a series of webinars, experts from the Italian and German high-performance computing communities offer a structured overview of the field. The webinar is intended for researchers, engineers, students, and professionals interested in gaining a better understanding of modern computational tools and applications, computational science, materials modeling, nanotechnology, and AI-driven scientific discovery. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.

The participants of the webinar on HPC and engineering will learn how HPC is integrated into industrial engineering to test prototypes under extreme conditions, reducing development costs. They will gain an overview of the challenges in CFD, where massive parallel calculation is used to visualize and optimize aerodynamic flows. Finally, they will learn about using numerical simulation to optimize hull efficiency by studying the interaction between solid structures and marine environments.
