An online seminar bridging fluid simulation software Ansys Fluent and supercomputing will be organized by NCC Belgium on 26 March 2026. In collaboration with Infinite Simulation Systems, this session will explore how Ansys Fluent can be integrated with supercomputing to significantly accelerate Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) workflows. Recent advances in meshing demonstrate that the native multi-GPU solver delivers significant speedups on the Vlaams Supercomputer Centrum GPU infrastructure. Practical deployment and scalability results will also be presented.
As a real-world case, a collaboration with the Innoptus Solar Team (KU Leuven), in which aerodynamic CFD simulations were migrated from CPU to GPU to support rapid solar car development, will be showcased. The session will cover aerodynamic optimization, fin design validation, race strategy simulations for the Australian competition, and wind-tunnel validation of the CFD models.
